Total Land Care
OUR HISTORY Total LandCare (TLC) was initially founded in 1999 by Trent Bunderson and Zwide Jere as a non-governmental organization affiliated to Washington State University. In 2003, TLC was registered as a trust in Malawi and Zambia, followed by Mozambique and Tanzania in 2006. Malawi is the headquarters of the organization, but each country office has an independent governance structure and board of directors. The similarities among the 4 countries in terms of farming systems, culture, bio-physical and socio-economic characteristics, offer distinct advantages for sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise to replicate what works in one country to the other countries. This is a unique and beneficial set up for implementing agricultural and natural resource management programs in the Eastern and Southern Africa region.
